Where do you go when you need a moment of peace? For me, it’s always Tōshōdai-ji. The moment I step in, time slows, and my heart feels lighter.

Across from it stands Yakushi-ji, full of movement and energy. Both are stunning, but Tōshōdai-ji’s stillness holds a special place in my heart. One of its hidden gems is the moss-covered mausoleum of Ganjin Wajō—a breathtaking, timeless beauty.

Inspired by this tranquility, I created akaiito, a cozy café in Ikoma, Nara (15 min by car from Tōshōdai-ji).

We specialize in handcrafted RÉGAL CHEESECAKE, baked with care, one by one. Over 90% of our guests visit alone, seeking a quiet, heartwarming space.
